Sunday Scoop

I must say that even though it is Sunday and Spring Break is almost over, I am excited to go back and crank out our last 37 days!!!

Have: We are starting our Animal Unit tomorrow and our safari guides need big brown paper bags!!! Laundry, so we can be presentable for our week back at it!! Pack up all the things for the week that are EVERYWHERE!!! I spent a little time prepping for our fun unit and now it's time to make sure everything gets to school!!

Hope:  I have a plan for April (personal & professional) and I really want to stick to it!! And I might be obsessing a bit about our house selling... BUT hearing the word SOLD would be music to my ears!

Love: Joey & I had a great Spring Break and I am going to miss our slow moving mornings and cuddles, so we are going to hit the playground and have some fun!!!! What better way to wrap up Spring Break!!!!

That's my scoop!

Sunday Scoop

I am happy to report that we had a GREAT week of vacation/holiday celebrations!!!  Joey absolutely loved the beach and I loved the relaxation of seeing her play!  The weather wasn't spectacular but we had a great time, we ate, played, and shopped, what more could two girls ask for!  As soon as we came back we jumped right into Fourth of July celebrations.  I have always liked fireworks, but this year was special...Joey's first 4th!!  It was amazing and today marks 4 months since we came home...YIKES!!!

As I always do, I am linking up with the

for their Sunday Scoop!!!

Have:  I am working 2 days/a week for a summer camp in my town, three weeks down three weeks to go!  I have been frustrated with my TV/Internet provider many times and I am finally going to call them and see what can be done!!!  I have so much laundry to put away from vacation (as well as everything that didn't get put away before vacation.)

Hope:  I am one of those people who loves to make their classroom FUN and cute!!!  I loved my colors last year but didn't love my theme....so I am trying to think of a new one!!!  It has rained so much that Joey has not gotten her outside time and being on vacation reminded me how much she LOVES the outdoors.  So praying for SUN!!!!

Happy:  A group of my girlfriends and I are trying out a new restaurant in town and I can't wait!!!

Sunday Scoop

Happy to be linking up with the Teaching Trio
for The Sunday Scoop!!

This week we leave for VACATION!!!!

I am excited and can't wait to see what Joey thinks of the beach.  I hope I get everything done!!!

Have:  My house and car are a MESS!!! A deep clean is necessary but that might have to wait until AFTER vacay:)  I finally have a new desk and can't wait to get rid of my current "office" area!!  My body is screaming for something that is ergonomically correct!!!

Hope:  Over the summer, I attempt to catch up with friends, I miss during the school year!  Hopefully this week, I will get to do just that and get Joey to another playground!  Preferably a playground that isn't MUDDY and flooded! Life in Illinois has been a little wet...to say the least!!!

Happy: I am over the moon thrilled to take Joey on our first vacation!!  Growing up we went somewhere every summer and I love the memories I have from those trips!!! Time to start making some memories with my little one!!

Sunday Scoop

Sunday Scoop

Who agrees with me that just one of the many highlights of summer is a Sunday night, where you don't have to set your alarm for the next day?  I just finished binge watching the end of Nashville and I am not even tired!!!  So I decided to tackle my Sunday Scoop with the Teaching Trio!  It really helped me keep centered last week and I am happy to report, everything got accomplished!!!
Let's hope this week is just as successful!!

Have to:
I really hope to follow my blogging schedule and think I am actually going to sign up for the TPT (SELLER) Challenge!  I have 90 miles to go in my personal challenge and I know I can do it, and Joey and I both have some appointments that need to get scheduled, but the thought of sitting on the phone is NOT appealing....which makes this a HAVE to do...as I am behind schedule on them!

Hope to:
I hope to clean my basement and garage!  Both have become "storage" areas for stuff.  I need to get things organized and of course PURGE!!!

Happy to:
This week the rain did not help our Playground Tour, but we did make it to one spot!  I hope we can add two new spots this week!!!

That's my scoop, what's yours?

The Sunday Scoop

I love that I am excited after writing today's Sunday Scoop!  Why might you ask?  One word = SUMMER !!!!

I am excited to conquer my summer to do list.  I am throwing it out there every chance I get as I need accountability!!!

So here is my Sunday Scoop!!!!  Thanks Teaching Trio for a fun way to narrow down my goals for the week.

HAVE:
My team and I have struggled with Reading.  We don't have a basal text, but rather a "pacing guide".  The problem is it really isn't aligned with Common Core and it is very chopping.  This year we had wanted to do author/theme studies, but it wasn't as planned as I would have liked.  So this year, we have some teachers moving and one of my teaching buddies is coming down from 4th to 1st!  She is amazing when it comes to curriculum and I am so excited to sit down with her and create our plan.  We even have money to buy new books!!  I know, a dream come true..right??  Our school started a summer check in program last year and it was awesome.  We have made some changes and know that this year it will be even better.  I have to organize the work packets so they are ready to be passed out!  My house is LONG overdue for a DEEP clean!  It must begin this week!

HOPE:
It looks like summer temperatures are going to come to Illinois this week!  So hopefully Joey and I can hit the pool!  We will also begin our morning walks tomorrow!!

HAPPY:
I am happy to enjoy every minute of summer!!!  Enough said!!!

The Sunday Scoop

Once again, I am linking up with The Teaching Trio for their Sunday Scoop.  I just love how it keeps me organized.  As the school year is winding down, my to do list only gets bigger!
So many things to do, but such an exciting time!!!

Here's my SCOOP!

Have To Do: Our PTO is FABULOUS!! We are so lucky to have them and they are over the top generous!!  A few years ago they started letting us submit proposals for funding (in addition to the money they give every team) for special projects that we wanted to do.  My first grade team got the idea to end the year a little differently, from our Kinder team.  So we have decided to do an Amelia Bedelia unit for the final four weeks of school!  We are proposing that PTO give us the money to buy 4 full class sets of Amelia Bedelia books so we can rotate them and do fun review activities.  Wish us luck! Small Group Reading is going well but I want to switch out some of our activities for May.  Last year, we had a summer check-in program for our kiddos!  They could check in at various places in our city with teachers and get summer work to practice and maintain their skills.  They would get prizes if they checked in and they all got t-shirts when we got back to school, that they could wear as part of their uniform!  A few things worked great and a couple things we want to tweak...but the days are flying by, so we need to get busy fine tuning the program!

Hope To Do: I need spring/summer clothes soooo badly!  Having a two year old makes it a little harder to shop!  She also has very few short sleeve shirts and little girl can sweat!  I also want to come up with a cleaning schedule.  I don't want to worry about spending my Saturday so the house is clean, when J and I could be having fun!!! I also don't want a house, I am embarrassed to have guests over to.  I think it is important I find a happy medium and come up with an easy schedule that I will follow.

Happy To Do:  I was asked by a very special young lady to be her confirmation sponsor.  I am honored to be asked and can't wait to walk with her on her faith journey.  I have a feeling we will both learn a lot together.

That's my scoop, what's yours?

I'm back...

Well not only have I not been tending to my fun blog, I have also not taught in 4 1/2 weeks!  I have however learned a lot in the past 4 1/2 weeks....I have learned how to be a mom!!!  February 26th, I left my house and embarked on the adventure of a lifetime.  I headed to Haiti and was able to pick up my little girl!  She is amazing and we have transitioned incredibly well.  I am sure you will hear more about her but for now....here's my Sunday Scoop!!!  I head back on Wednesday for a few days with my firsties and Joey heads to the babysitter!  Hope we both find success!!!  Thanks to the Teaching Trio for the great linky!!!

This is a busy week but a great reward awaits me...SPRING BREAK!!!!  I have big plans for Joey and I, as well as some school projects!!!!  Stay tuned as I hope to give my blog some much needed attention!!!

I have to remember to HAVE FUN!!  I work with 6 & 7 year olds and if I am not having fun, then most likely they aren't either.  This week, I am going to stop and remember that they are 6 & 7.  We are bringing the fun back to learning!!!  We will do this if I follow my plans, as I tried hard to over plan and make it exciting!!!  Lastly, if we are having fun...then we need pictures!!  Tune in later in the week for some pictures!!

I hope to shampoo my floors as it looks like a month from today, I will have a 2 year old living in my house!!!  WOO HOO!!  She deserves clean floors!  I also have a huge to do list to conquer before I depart to bring her home, both professionally and personally!!

I am happy to start the countdown, 22 days til we are a FAMILY FOREVER!!!!

The Sunday Scoop

One of my goals for 2015 is to be more accountable!!  The Sunday Scoop from Teaching Trio  will help me do just that!!! Here's my scoop...

This week I have to plan our 100th day, I mean it is FRIDAY!!! I am going with a Rock N Roll theme and can't wait to start putting all my ideas (thank you Pinterest) to paper!  No Worksheet Wednesday has been a goal of mine and this Wednesday is a half day, certainly I can handle a half day with no worksheets!  It may be time to switch Math Workshop groups, so I am working on exit tickets to know who is getting it and who needs some more help!

I hope to start making visual plans!  I tried last week and realized my plans are BORING!! So I am conquering this goal soon! This week I hope to start practicing adding more of my Pinterest finds into my plans.  One of my professional goals is to reflect and document what we do in our room!  Pictures are the best day to do that, I must start snapping more of our activities!!!

And, I am more then happy to end Monday with The Bachelor and my girlies!!!  Anyone else watching this season?  We love Prince Farming, I mean after all we are bunch of Midwestern girls:)

What's your scoop?

All good things must come to an end...

Winter Break is ALMOST over!!  Tomorrow we have Teacher's Institute from 8-1 and then kiddos are back on Tuesday.  I have some goals for 2015, I mean who doesn't?  So this is the year to quit just talking about it and do it!  So be prepared to walk inside Room 105 and see the awesomeness that occurs!

I linked up with The Teaching Trio for The Sunday Scoop!

I also did some work on a little Number Order center for my Math Workshop kiddos and decided to share it as a freebie!  It is simple and ink friendly!  I plan to use it this week and will hopefully show how it works.  If you are interested, check it out at http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Winter-Waddle-Number-Order-1632431
