About Me

How do you determine who you are?  I am lots of things, a mom, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, and first grade teacher.  All these titles are special to me and make me who I am...

I am a mom to a WONDERFUL two year old who will hopefully be coming home this year FOREVER!!  Adoption has taught me so many things about myself and I am so grateful, however I am most grateful for my little J!  She is changing my life in so many ways and I can not wait to begin our forever together!

I am a daughter to my parents, who have taught me about love, faith, hard-work, and caring.  They have been married for 48 years and still hold hands like they are newlyweds!  Love them to the moon and back!

I am a sister & sister-in-law to my brother and sister-in-law.  Growing up, I wanted to be anywhere my brother was!  He was into sports, so I was into sports!  He was the big brother that wasn't afraid to be with me, he taught me to drive at 14 (shhhh don't tell anyone!), he would attend my dance recitals even after a hot day of football practice, and he gave me a sister!!!!  My sister-in-law shares with me a love of shopping and laughing.  We can be silly together and I love getting her to laugh til she cries:)  Together they gave me two of the best gifts ever, my nieces!!!  At 14 & 11, they are becoming young ladies and I am in awe of their strength and love, as well as their hard work in school!!!!

I am a friend to the best friends a girl could ask for!  I mean how many people can say, they are still friends with people that they knew when they were a month old?  I can!  I have friends from all parts of my life and we all share different connections, but one thing is for sure....no matter what I can always count on them!

I am a first grade teacher that is in her 8th year of teaching!  I took the unconventional route and didn't become a teacher until I was out of college for 9 years.  Life teaches you a lot and I when I was 30, I decided to finally follow my dream to be a teacher.  2 years of commuting to Chicago for school once a week, working full-time, and getting in my observations, practicums, and student teaching...I achieved my goal in May 2007!  I have been lucky enough to have taught all my years at the same school.  I have taught K, 1st, and 2nd.  I have to say, I feel like 1st may be my FAVORITE!!!  Kinder being a very close second!

And lastly, I am an aspiring blogger and TPT'er who is looking to make connections in this wonderful blogging community!!  So drop me a line!!!
